This past weekend was a very competitive race with thousands of entries and a very challenging course. All of the athletes represented well both on and off the water. Below are the results from the weekend.

Cohen Crossley and Andrew Pawloswki raced in a men's high school novice double and finished 12th out of 14.
Sophie Clendenning-Kim teamed up with another SCRC athlete to race in the women's high school novice double, finishing 20th out of 24 boats.
John Malone raced in a men's quad with other team members and finished 27th out 39 boats
Maya Finke, Effie Grelli, Nora Jacobson raced in a women's JV quad finishing 17th out of 18.
John Malone also raced in a men's varsity double finishing 43 out of 53
Fynn Henning and Ben Hocquet teamed up to race a men's JV double finishing 33 out of 44
Maya Finke also raced in a women's JV double and finished 23rd out of 30 boats.
This was a new experience for our rowers and a great opportunity for all of them to see a higher caliber of competition than what we see in the midwest. All of the athletes learned a lot and had positive take aways from the experience that will help them continue to improve and gain speed as we move through the year.
This weekend we are traveling to Fairfax, VA for the Head of the Occoquan Regatta where we will see some more new competition. Those racing are Ben Hocquet, Fynn Henning, Andrew Pawlowski, Sophie Clendenning-Kim, Teddy Glass, John Malone, and Marcio Silva.
